Got out the xmas decorations and put up the tree in the office today. The tree was kinda small and puny but it was fun to "dress" it up in ornaments. All of this reminds me of how much i love xmas. In singapore, they make a big deal out of it. Eventhough its monsoon season and rains non stop instead of snowing, you can sort of feel the xmas spirit when you're out and about. That's one of the benefits of working in Town, you get to see all the lights and displays they set up. This year, i think the prettiest tree is the one outside of Paragon.
Sometimes when i think back i do miss xmas' in the UK. The oudoor ice skating rinks, the feel of snow falling and mosty definitely Aunty Cheryl's xmas lunch of roast beef and yorkshire pudding! I practically salivate just thinking about it.
And although i don't really celebrate xmas, i can appreciate the holiday and the spirit of giving. So this year, me and Nor came up with an idea to do a xmas lunch/dinner cum gift exchange for those nearest and dearest. But instead of getting one gift for everyone, we draw lots and you only buy for the person whose name you pulled out. And since today was a very boring day, me and Nor took the initiative (more like tak sabar) and drew lots for everyone. So, here's what we pulled out :
Jeremy buying for Paul
Noreen buying for Jeremy
Paul buying for Rachel
Mychelle buying for Sarah
Rachel buying for Noreen
Sarah buying for Mychelle
We drew lots according to alphabetical order, hence Jeremy was first. There's also a budget of maximum 30 dollars you can spend for the gift. I can't wait. Me and Nor might do xmas hat gift bags for everyone too.. Fill them with yummy xmas goodies like cookies, mince pies and xmas crackers! Till then,
Ho, Ho Ho....
