Havent been updating as much, so just a random update on some thing's that have been happening. (warning : verybad paragraphing ahead!)
Surprisingly work has been quite stressful this week, with my boss leaving for Perth for holiday, so he piled on the work for me and Noreen. I also seem to be feeling very burnt out lately, especially today. Went to play tennis for the first time last night with baby and the rest at Changi. It was quite fun and we jogged and did situps while taking turns having matches. My goal is to lose 2.5 kg (if more, lagi happy) by the time i leave for the Phillipines in January. Am also on half day today coz tmrw is Hari Raya Haji, and we get half days the day before the PH's we celebrate. I'm finally gonna go collect the Body Shop hamper that i won! Can't wait to see it. Been waiting since last week ok..
My brother's getting back from KL tonight. Went up to help with the equipment for the new Sprite Revive advertisement. This weekend is gonna be a super busy one for baby, bookings are totally full for all 3 days. For me, it'll be a relaxing one. Still have to come back for half day of work on Saturday, which i think is absolute bullshit, but that's why i'm not the boss right. Plan to get my hair done with Ayin after work, coz she's on half day too (apparently i'm not the only one who thinks its bullshit then...) Hope the plan happens, coz i've been dying to do my hair for some time now. Will post pictures later on.. ;)
Been wanting to try out this new ladies spa at Jurong Point, called Jamu Wellness. It loks really serene and a read their brochure, and their treatments seem to-die-for. Hmmm.. this weekend maybe?
Anyways, i'm off! Got to start getting ready to leave real soon! Ciao!

My Virtual World
Working at a desk in front of a computer 9 hours a day has made me become somewhat of a virtual geek. So much so, that nowadays i can find almost anything to entertain me from when i step in the office in the morning, until i shut down to leave at the end of the day. Here are a few of the stuff i do on a day to day basis :
Email & Msn
Of course the most basic that even the worst caveman would know hwo to use. I still prefer msn comapred to skype coz most of us asians havent converted over yet. Hence it's better to use something everyone else is one. And btw, i used to HATE forwaded mail coz i was to lazy to read them, but now i love it! It gives me something to do. haha
Facebook
The major craze right now, and my greatest source of entertainment. I always check what ppl have sent me, status updates and new photo's that fren's have uploaded. Then i check my wall and notifications, and see if there are any good stuff worth commenting on. Then comes the fun part, i check on my Cafe World, Farmville, Home Inn and Fishville. Yes, i have a restaurant, farm, hotel and aquarium all at my fingertips. Noreen think's i'm mad and can't be bothered to try but she's really nice coz when she see's me playing she'll answer the phonecalls. Hahs.
Blogs
Lots of blogs i've come across are really bad, i feel mainly coz of the english. Sometimes you really can't understand what the person is typing. There are a few good blogs that are worth reading and i check them daily.
Twitter
Something new and big in Europe and the US, twitter is also a social networking site that lets you send 140 character updates. What makes it slightly different is you can add famous people like Ashton Kutcher and Ryan Seacrest and see what they're doing. It as an authentic website and usually hollywood stars have their accounts verified so people know it's really them.
Neopets
Ok i know this is stupid and childish but when i get really bored, i log on to this. Its actually a kids site that lets you keep free online pets. They're not your usual cats and dogs but sort off different creatures. You can play games to earn coins, then you can buy food to feed them, buy books for them and lots of other stuff. Its really kiddish but it kills time.
Youtube
Love watching clips of the British Xfactor and America's got talent online. Only downside is the video's take quite some time to buffer, and i can only watch them in the afternoon after my boss has left. Otherwise, i wouldnt be able to hear anyone approaching behind me. Haha
So that's whati usually do everyday, and Noreen will tell you sometimes my online game playing will get out of hand. But if you work in this company that i'm working with, you'll understand. ;)

Movie Reviews
For those of you who know me well, should know that i am an honest to god movie buff. This past 2 weeks alone i have watched 4 movies at the cinema. Thought i might do a little review for those out there who wanted to watch, but are still contemplating.
Movie #1
In the first place, i didnt even want to watch this movie but had no choice coz i was outnumbered. I had good reason not to watch it, and i was right. It wasn't scary, the jokes were lame, and the storyline was ridiculous. Basically its about this really hot girl who became kind of a vampire when she was sacrificed by a band coz they wanted to get rich and famous. She was supposed to die, but apparently they were supposed to sacrifice a virgin and she wasn't, so she became this killing machine. Now tell me that doesnt sound stupid to you? I think the whole point of the movie is to show how hot Megan Fox is, cept to me, she looked so much better in Transformers. She just came off as totally psycho in this one.
Rating : 1/5
Movie #2
Michael Jackson's This Is It. Bits and pieces of his rehearsal for his final perforamance, those parts they managed to catch on camera. Was pretty surreal to see him walking about, dancing and singing when you know that he has already passed. Highly advise only MJ fans to watch, for the rest of you, it might come off as a bit draggy and boring. Thought it was pretty good as it'll probably serve as closure for some of his to die for fans.
Rating : 3/5
Movie #3
To me, this movie is a must watch. Its hard to find horror movies nowadays that actually scare you, but this one was quite creepy. I'll admit, the starting part was a bit draggy, but once it got into it, i was intrigued. I think what makes it scary is that you dont actually see the ghost, so it make it more believable. You know like when you're watching Ju On, then you see the ghost and you think to yourself, are you kidding me? I especially like the fact that it's a low budget movie, and there are only like 3 actors, but it's definitely worth more than all those other crap horror movies out there.
Rating : 4/5
Movie #4
Ok i put this movie last not coz i think it's the best, but coz the movie conditions in which i saw it in was power! Haha. OK la, i'm only saying this coz baby got tickets for us to watch it in Gold Class at Vivo! It was the first time for both of us, and we couldn't have chosen a better movie to watch coz it was super duper long. The seats were really great and they even give you a blanket to snuggle under while lying in your mega comfortable reclinable chair. You don't queue for popcorn, you press a button then a waitress comes to you with a menu. Mind you, any food and drink ordered is ADDITIONAL, and is not inclusive in the $28 movie ticket. Hahs. Back to the movie. After the great amount of speculation that followed its release (everyone thought the world was really coming to an end in 2012 -_-), i was really interested to watch it. Sadly, i was quite disappointed. Storyline and plot turned out to be very predictable and the heroes all didn't die and miraculously found a way to escape a tsunami 1000 plus metres high. Not the end of the world afterall eh?

Jingle Bells, Batman Smells...
Got out the xmas decorations and put up the tree in the office today. The tree was kinda small and puny but it was fun to "dress" it up in ornaments. All of this reminds me of how much i love xmas. In singapore, they make a big deal out of it. Eventhough its monsoon season and rains non stop instead of snowing, you can sort of feel the xmas spirit when you're out and about. That's one of the benefits of working in Town, you get to see all the lights and displays they set up. This year, i think the prettiest tree is the one outside of Paragon.
Sometimes when i think back i do miss xmas' in the UK. The oudoor ice skating rinks, the feel of snow falling and mosty definitely Aunty Cheryl's xmas lunch of roast beef and yorkshire pudding! I practically salivate just thinking about it.
And although i don't really celebrate xmas, i can appreciate the holiday and the spirit of giving. So this year, me and Nor came up with an idea to do a xmas lunch/dinner cum gift exchange for those nearest and dearest. But instead of getting one gift for everyone, we draw lots and you only buy for the person whose name you pulled out. And since today was a very boring day, me and Nor took the initiative (more like tak sabar) and drew lots for everyone. So, here's what we pulled out :
Jeremy buying for Paul
Noreen buying for Jeremy
Paul buying for Rachel
Mychelle buying for Sarah
Rachel buying for Noreen
Sarah buying for Mychelle
We drew lots according to alphabetical order, hence Jeremy was first. There's also a budget of maximum 30 dollars you can spend for the gift. I can't wait. Me and Nor might do xmas hat gift bags for everyone too.. Fill them with yummy xmas goodies like cookies, mince pies and xmas crackers! Till then,
Ho, Ho Ho....

Friday the 13th
I'm not one to believe in something like Friday the 13th. In fact, i rarely believe in any superstiotions or old wives tales. But today, i swear to god, i damn suay!
First, i had to issue tickets for my bossess' customer. Not only did i keep getting the pricing wrong (all his fault, he's the one that qouted me!), when i finally wanted to issue the tickets, he asked me to un-transfer the booking coz the customer last minute wanted to make changes. In the end they i had to change their booking and do a fresh one. I tell you the woman from the wholesaler i was dealing with sounded super agitated at the end of all of it. She probably would've killed me if she could.
Then this lady called checking about airfares to Hokaido. I checked different dates for her on 3 DIFFERENT AIRLINES and calmly told her that all the flights were fully booked. You know what she told me? She YELLED at me on the phone that i was unhelpful and sounded like a i couldn't be bothered and maybe i was paid to do my job but i her experience with our company a very unpleasant one. I tell you i wanted to shout back at her that i couldn't give a **** what she thought of my service but it was too late, coz by that time she had already hung up the phone.
Already so agitated, i did the receipts wrongly. Then, my boss came out and said that the accounts form i had so painstakingly done the day before was wrong, because HE EXPLAINED IT TO ME WRONGLY. And mind you, he apologised, but he didnt sound the least bit sorry, and was even smiling when he said it. So i had to RE-DO that aswell, on top of everything.
Later in the afternoon one of my customers called, wanting to come down to make payment. I felt a bit of relief coz i had been trying to get him to come down to pay for the past few days, as his booking was expiring this coming monday. However just when i thought thing's were looking up, Alice re checked my booking and saw that i had booked the wrong flight. That means now, i have to call up that customer and tell him not only that i got it wrong, but that there's also no other available flights on the dates he's looking at. I'm so ****ed. I just wish today would be over.
Today. Seriously. Sucks.

Baby's Big BIrthday Surprise! Part 1
I thoroughly enjoyed planning baby's birthday this year. It was madness trying to inform everyone involved, and make sure the right thing's have been booked, cake has been ordered, etc... This entry will only contain details, and i'll add in the photos in the next one.
Day 1, Pre Birthday, Thurs 05 Nov :
We found out that Bai's condition was getting worse and the doctor claimed the cancer was now at stage 4 so went over to his and Yatee's place to see how he was doing. This part is sad and has nothing to do with baby's birthday, but that's how the whole group got together.
After leaving Bai's place we decided to go prawning and stopped at DBS at Kovan to withdraw some cash first. Feroz and Bidin decided to get a cake so they asked the rest to go first. Surprised baby at the stroke of midnight with it. You could tell he didnt see it coming at all, so that was good fun. Especially when me, Perot and Feroz were trying to light all the candles and Arman wanted to run ahead first and tell his Uncle Didi. He ended up stealing the chocolate roses on the cake when he thought no one was looking. One in a million i tell you...
Day 2, The Big Day, Friday 06 Nov :
Went to work as usual and throughout the day he kept on asking me where we were gonna eat so i finally gave in and told him Sakura. To my dismay and utter disappointment he refused to go, saying he had already eaten and thought the food at Sakura sucked anyway.
I quickly called the rest and came up with a plan B. Went down to Beach Road after work to meet him then we went to highlight his hair. By this time i had no choice but to confess my plans to him, as it was too late to go to Sakura and he was hinting that we should just eat somewhere nearby.
Anyway. So we met up with the rest at Mac and headed down to Simpang Bedok, or so he thought. We actually managed to make last min reservations at the Cash Studio there so at least something worked out right. Haha. Had a good karaoke session (i swear the rooms there are super huge!). Also surprised baby with cake number 2, chocolate fudge cake from Awfully Chocolate, his favourite. Luckily i had managed to pre order it and Maria, being the kind soul that she is, helped to pick it up for me from Vivo.
Day 3 & 4, Post Birthday, 7-8 Nov :
The most exciting and biggest surprise of all, us turning up in Batam! That Saturday he headed off to work as usual, on the 9.20 ferry. I scrambled around between packing stuff that he might not have brought, to putting overnight parking coupons on his bike, and collecting our ferry tickets. Me, Rachel, Jepon, Bidin and Niza headed in on the 12.10 ferry and were picked up from the ferry terminal by Iain. As soon as we reached the park Long came out of the office and signalled for us to quickly run in before baby see's, coz he was out on the water riding. After we were all safely hidden behind the tinted glass, he paged for didi to come in. That look of happiness on his face when we shouted surprise and he saw us will seriously be a great memory i will always remember. Long gave him a beer and added on saying that he was gonna sponsor us to stay the night at Holiday Inn. I of course already knew this and had previously discussed all the details with Long. That really made baby laugh coz i know he was totally not expecting anyting like that. Then he got drowned in beer by Adi and made to wear some bugs bunny arm bands by Iain.
The rest of the day went on well, managed to get some riding in. We managed to sabo baby in the afternoon, eggs and flour courtesy of the Batam Cable Crew. Funny thing was when i planned this with Adi, Alice and Lisa, they said they'll handle it. So me being me, thought they would bring enough for everyone to sabo him. But err.. they got like 6 eggs, a small plastic bag of flour, and some pink food dye. Oh well, at least a got to throw 2 eggs at baby. Haha. Most of of ended up messy after that, and boy did we smell!
Headed to the hotel to check in after the park closed for the day. The feeling of being able to have a hot shower and get ready in a clean air conditioned room after a day of wakeboarding is the best feeling ever. Adi had gotten a driver to bring us out to dinner, and they came to pick us up at 8. Jun tagged along and we headed to Golden Prawn 555. The food was AMAZING. As soon as you enter the place you can see all the ponds with every sort of seafood you can imagine. You point to the guy what you want and he'll catch it and weigh it for you on the spot. As you'll see in the photos later on, the seafood is absolutely fresh. The meal we had was seriously awesome.
Extremely full, we moved on to our drinking plans. Initially i had planned with Iain to go to this club called Pacific, but since all of us were in shorts and slippers we scratched that idea. Instead, we met up with Alice and Lisa and went to apparently, what is the only club in Batam that doesnt have a cover charge and shorts and slippers were allowed. It was called Steps. The place turned out to be how you would think any club in Batam would be. Very hot and full of sleazy Batam girls trying to pick up "orang bulih" (ang moh's). Some of the songs they played were ok la, but most of them were old tracks, and when the live band came on i almost fainted. The 3 girls were dressed up really slutty and i swear one of them even gave this guy a lapped dance while singing i'm yours by jason mraz. The other thing that really cracked me up was the fact that they would walk around shaking everyone's hands while singing, like they were some international superstars or something. I almost wanted to ignore the guy when he came up to me to shake my hand. Anyway, at least we had fun dancing and stuff but we didnt stay that long.
Stopped off at Iain's place on the way back to the hotel, should definitely make plans to stay there one day, he has more than enough space! Were supposed to continue drinking the vodka we bought from DFS but some were too tired they headed to bed first. Some people (whom i shall not name here) seriously got so drunk, i wish i had stayed awake to watch the action.
Next day waking up felt like shit, and everybody was physically tired. A few of us managed to wake up early enough to catch the hotel breakfast, while baby headed off to the park for work. We arrived later on and met up with a few other ppl including my bro and Aisha and the Asmawi sisters. Had a really relaxing and lazy day chilling and riding. Highlights were the cupcakes my brother and Aisha brought. This was my final surprise for baby, and also a gift from my family. Also, Jason Chia sort of losing his memory and going around asking everyone what happened. The stories became wilder and wilder as the day went by. Most funny thing i found out was that no one actually saw him fall. Go figure. Anyway, another highlight was jepon getting whacked in the chin by the wakeskate. Err, not really a highlight, but at least something exciting did happen. The ferry ride home was a quiet one, apart from baby's snores. I wouldnt know, i was alseep too. :)
All in all, i had the best time celebrating baby's birthday, and every penny and time spent was extremely worth it. Till next year!

My Love
My love, we have seen it all
The endless confessions, the rise and fall
As fragile as a child
Lately i'm sorry i can't hold a smile
But i stand tall to get by
No matter how hard i try to hide
Did you know i take the time for you
Did you know that i would see you through
Did you know that i would play the part
I must've made it clear right from the start
My love, can you give me the strength
Somehow i forgot how to ease my pain
I know i'm right where i belong
Something from nothing never proved me wrong
But i stand tall to get by
No matter how hard i try to hide
I would shade my whole life with you
Would you do the same for me
And i would give all i am to you
Would you do the same for me
And i will stand tall to get by
No matter how hard i try to hide
Could you see i've been brave
Did you notice all my mistakes
There were times i could feel you read my mind
Did you know i take the time for you
Did you know that i would see you through
Did you know that i would play the part
I know i made it clear right from the start

something borrowed, something blue..
Every young girl dreams of growing up and having the ultimate barbie doll wedding. Huge white cake, flowers, princess dress, you get the drill. If only reality was just as good as fantasy.......
i couldn't decide on which one coz they were all soo preetty.. i love the strapless dresses with the prints and sequins down the front.. :)
All of this seemed like something very far awayfor me, but now i think it's not as distant as i thought. Already a few of my friend's are either engaged or already married, all the same age as me. Eventhough i know i won't be getting hitched that soon, i came up with my version of a few important wedding details that i would like for my wedding. Some of it is a bit extravagant, but hey, a girl can dream right?
THE RING
I think this part was the easiest to choose. I fell in love with my mother's old eternity engagement ring and knew i wanted something like that for my own wedding. Unlike my mother's, this one's white gold, my favourite. :)
THE CAKE
Surprisingly enough i found this on a Singapore based website. Think this lady is uber talented . The picture definitely does the talking for this one.
THE WEDDING FAVORS
Found these from the same website as the cake. Though if i was really gonna use these they would of course be individually packed. I think people always look over wedding favors, but personally i think they play an important role. Coz other than a full stomach, that's what they're gonna bring home from your wedding!
and most importantly....
THE DRESS
i couldn't decide on which one coz they were all soo preetty.. i love the strapless dresses with the prints and sequins down the front.. :)

a job that pays the bills
Been on haitus for awhile, especially from work.
Reasons for my absence is simple, i am bored with my job. I feel like i'm wasting my time here, and i could be somewhere else with a better pay and doing something that i actually enjoy. I am angry with the school for making us go through this internship for a year. I am angry that i cannot apply anything that i learnt in the last 2 years of my life at Shatec. Day in day out i am getting more angry, irritated and frustrated with the place, the people i work with and ESPECIALLY the customers. The only thing i feel i can do is to seperate my work and social life and have something to look forward to at the end of the day. Fortunately for me, i've already found that something, or rather should i say someONE? :)
On a not so angry note, i spent the day wakeboarding in batam yesterday. Came back sunburnt and tired, but happy. It was a good day, very little people came so the queue was short and it was nice and relaxing. We ended up doing the free fall jump at the end of the day and baby tricked me coz we were standing at the edge together with him counting down, but in the end only i jumped! Irritating. It was all in good fun though.
