Growing up

Still haven't posted my memoir's of 2009, and the NYE posts, but i thought this one was more important and deserved to be published first.

Being a mum is the most important job in the world. No one pays you, you have no break, and you are now in charge of that little person you just brought into the world. When you're a kid, everything is simple - you listen to your mother. What she says is law, and it never even crosses your mind to question. You know what she does for you is what she feels is the best.

Then you grow slightly older, and through school, you are exposed to friend's and the outside world. You learn new thing's every single day, not all of which are good. But still, you confide in your mother and she guides you to the right path. Studies come first, you're too young to have a boyfriend, curfews and the one that was repeated to me the most : there will always be more fun to be had.

By this time you become a teenager, and you start to forget about the special lady that has been taking care of you all those years. Teenage years are all about you, you and YOU. You never see the hurt in your mum's eyes when you say something you're not supposed to. Yet she forgives you and loves you just as unconditionally as she had before.

Yet again and again you let her down, lying and scrambling around behind her back to do the thing's that you want to do. She turns her back on you, not to abandon you, but to hide from you the tears that you have caused her to cry.

A mother's love is the most powerful in the world, cannot be bought, steealed or borrowed. Sometimes we do (lots) of thing's we eventually turn out to regret later on in life. But i don't want to go on without making things right, knowing that my actions hurt my mumma.

Below are the lyrics of the song Butterfly Fly Away, sung by Miley Cyrus and her dad Billy Ray Cyrus. It has the exacft same meaning for them that it has for me, cept i dedicate it to my mum..:)

You tuck me in,Turn out the light
kept me safe and sound at night
little girls depend on things like that

Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
had to drive me everywhere
you were always there when I looked back
You had to do it all alone
Make a living, make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be
And when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
you would hold my hand and sing to me

Caterpillar in the tree, how you wonder who you'll be
can't go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
don't you worry hold on tight.
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly Fly Away
Butterfly Fly Away (butterfly fly away)

Flap your wing now you cant stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Butterfly Fly Away (butterfly fly away)
